Renovation and Project Advice

Launching your next home renovation project can be pretty intimidating.

  • It can be really difficult to visualize what’s optimal (or even possible) for your specific situation

  • You may be unsure when to spend your hard-earned budget dollars on architects, engineers, and contractors

  • In other words, navigating the steps of the process can be completely overwhelming

RER BarnWorks aims to be an impartial advisor (i.e., we are not a General Contracting company) that can help you devise a solid plan of attack and can then be someone that can gut-check work as time goes on during your project.  We work with clients near Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on an hourly rate basis and have found that even a couple brief chats can set you on a better renovation path.

Qualifications

As a former construction sales and project management professional, I have experience:

  • Understanding client needs

  • Designing first draft construction design drawings

  • Working with CAD designers and architects to refine and finalize plans

  • Managing construction schedules, working with general contractors, managing sub-contractors

  • Interfacing with townships and code enforcement officers

And, as a woodworker and homeowner that has completely overhauled a 1902 farmhouse, barn, and our entire property, I have a good feel for:

  • Creating spaces that make you happy to come back home

  • Practicality – balancing needs and wants against reality and budget

  • Handling dynamics such as the “contractor that won’t call you back”
